I've recently taken up cycling, and try to ride between 100-150 miles per week. I enjoy group rides such as Conquer the Coast and the MS150 charity rides. Even though these rides are not races, each ride undoubtedly becomes a race to the finish.
In my spare time I enjoy road racing in the Sports Car Club of America. I've won roughly 50 races, won two championships, raced professionally in the Pirelli World Challenge and Tarheel Cup Pro Series, and currently hold track records at eight tracks: Watkins Glen long and short course, Pocono, Pittsburg, New Jersey - Lightning, Summit Point, Virginia International Raceway, and Charlotte Motor Speedway.
I was a competitive rower in high school and college. In college I was in the varsity Lightweight 8, and we finished 7th in the nation at the Collegiate Championships.
In middle school and high school I was a competitive swimmer. I was particularly good at butterfly. On my summer team, I made it to All-Stars my senior year, seeded last (18th). I beat five of my competitors and came in 13th overall, shaving 3/10th of a second off of my best time.
COMPETITOR
In case you haven't noticed, I'm slightly competitive. As a participant in the very first HFI Certified User Experience Analyst class, I stayed up until midnight when the online test was opened up just so I could be the first one to take it--and pass it around 1:45 am. I was hoping to get certification #1. Only after my certificate arrived did I learn the certification number is given out alphabetically by first name...and there was a Christine in my class who got #101. I suspect the first 100 certifications were reserved for HFI employees.
